By Road: The best way to reach Manas National Park is by roadways and railways. It is situated 170 KM far from Assam’s main city Guwahati.

By Train: Barpeta Road is well connected with the road and railway. All major trains make a stop on Barpeta Road and the National Highway NH-31 passes through this town.

Barpeta Road also has the office of the Field Director and the central range of Manas National park – “BahBari” is just 25 Km away.

By Air: You can also reach Manas via Air, Barpeta Road is just 125km away from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Borjhar, Guwahati.

What is the Best Time to Visit Manas National Park?

The best time to visit Manas National Park is from October to April.

From December to February, the winter season. The weather is clear, cool, and fantastic. You will have the chance to spot several animals and birds as during winter, several animals come in the open to have a sun bath.

Note: Avoid the new year plan if you want to enjoy the nature as thousands of people visit the national park at this time and most of the animals go deep inside the park and you have very less chances to spot any animal.

March and April are the months when you may face some rainy seasons. But it is also the time when you will find the Park in its full New greenery.

The rivers have plenty of water, but not plenty enough to flood the national park.

The best part is that instead of 2 hrs safari like Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park allows you to have a full-day safari till 5 pm and takes you to the deep jungle and also to the Bhutan borderMathanguri.

Jeep safari can be booked any time of the day, but we recommend you start early morning. This gives you to have an entire day of safari in the wilderness.

Note: Don’t forget to take some snacks for your lunch, as you won’t get anything there. Also visit the Bura Buri Chowk around 4pm. This allows you to have a closer look at most of the animals as they pass by from there at that time.

Elephant Safari is possible in morning around 5am and you have to book it a day previous, which means you have to stay for the night in one of the resorts nearby.
